The Kestrel 5500 pocket weather tracker is a comprehensive, hand-held environmental meter, a completely portable mini weather station that fits in your pocket!
The advanced meter is specifically designed to measure wind speed, air flow, ambient temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. In total, 14 meteorological parameters can be measured, calculated and displayed in real-time and stored in memory. This includes advanced measurements such as dew point, wet bulb temperature, and density altitude.
The Kestrel 5500 maybe miniature in size, but the weather meter is able to provide fast, accurate readings without compromising on functionality or performance. With fully sealed electronics, the robust meter is waterproof, it even floats if accidentally dropped into water. Constructed from impact resistant materials, the dust-proof and drop-proof Kestrel 5500 is the ideal instrument for outdoor enthusiasts, engineers, and even the emergency services.
The Kestrel 5500 weather meter is a pocket-sized vane anemometer with built-in temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors. It utilizes high precision Zytel° bearings and a lightweight rotating impeller to deliver precise air flow measurement. Even at low speeds. In addition, Kestrel 5500 has a built-in digital compass. This allows you to track and log wind direction as well as wind speed. Essential parameters for anyone who needs to understand the impact crosswind, headwind, and tailwind.
There are two versions of the Kestrel Handheld Anemometer 5500
With the standard Kestrel 5500 data can be transferred using a USB data transfer cable, sold separately (). The data can be sent from the meter to a Windows/Mac device. A free of charge Kestrel LiNK App allows you to view and store all data as well as downloading into .csv format.
With the Kestrel 5500 LiNK version data can be transferred via Bluetooth connectivity. The user can transfer data wirelessly to an iOS (iPhone or iPad) device or Android smartphone or tablet. Data can be viewed live on the App up to 100 feet away.
